UTICA – SUNY POLY. On Thursday, October 15th, President Noa Lolona Haro announced the release of Student Government’s first monthly financial audit. Student Government has a fiscal year running from July 1st until June 30th, following SUNY Poly’s schedule and the academic year.

Under new policy changes put into effect last spring, the Student Government Treasurer is required to compile and present a financial audit every month that classes are in session. President Lolona Haro had stated earlier in September that the financial audit for August would be bundled in with the September audit due to classes only starting on August 31st. Since Student Government Treasurer-Elect Aidan Pena has not yet assumed his role – he was only elected on October 8th – President Lolona Haro prepared the audit.

Up to September 30th, Student Government has spent just shy of $49,000 (approximately 8.4% of its annual budget). (Note that this spending amount does not include spending by clubs.) The audit notes that no line has gone overbudget and no transfers have occurred.

The vast majority of the spending for the first quarter comes from Student Government’s Executive Branch (SGU) and the Wildcat Events Board (WEB), having spent \~$18,300 and \~$26,100 respectively. Wildcat Media, which has not been active this semester, has not spent anything.

Wildcat Esports (WCE) has spent abut $3,500 so this year, mostly on registering for the different leagues they compete in. According to the financial audit, Club Advisory Board (CAB) has spent only $820 – on processed extra funding requests – though as of September 30th, multiple clubs had received their activation funding. It is not clear why these activation funds were excluded from CAB's spending.
